As part of the official commemorative programme in honour of the 150th Anniversary of German-Japanese Relations, the University of Cologne is pleased to invite its academic Partners from Japan to a Japanese-German Symposium. The Symposium is part of the “Japan Weeks at German Higher Education Institutions”, an initiative of the German’s Rector Conference (HRK), and it is the climax of a series of events, which took place in the summer semester 2011, including an interdisciplinary series of lectures, road shows and presentations.

The Symposium is a joint effort by scientists from Cologne and from Japanese Partner Universities of the University of Cologne. Beyond the official occasion, the University of Cologne intends to celebrate and strengthen its manifold and long lasting relationship to the Japanese academic world.
